Music that moves and smiles
Muybridge Artwork by Sean J. Randall
Described as Klamath mountain soul, the Muletown String Band blends a stubborn hybrid of traditional bluegrass instruments (mandolin, guitar, banjo, fiddle, upright bass) with not-so traditional percussion. Each member of Muletown contributed at least one tune and plush vocal harmonies on its 2011 self-titled album. Songs are written and performed by Morgan Hannaford (mandolin), Jim Dyar (guitar), Paul Calkins (banjo), Torri Pratt (vocals), Tracy Manuel (percussion) and Clay Harvey (upright bass). The album features guest fiddlers Scott Joss (Merle Haggard/Dwight Yoakam) and Kate Busey. Recorded at After Hours Recorders, Redding, CA.
